Troubleshooting Guide

Quick Checks:

  • Check battery installation and power
  • Ensure line of sight to TV IR sensor
  • Clean remote control buttons and IR transmitter
  • Check for physical damage to remote
  • Test remote with phone camera

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

  1. Battery Check: Replace batteries with new ones, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) orientation.
  2. Line of Sight: Ensure nothing is blocking the path between remote and TV's IR receiver.
  3. Distance Test: Move closer to the TV (within 10 feet) and test remote functionality.
  4. Sensor Check: Point remote directly at TV's IR sensor, typically located at the bottom center of the screen.
  5. Phone Camera Test: Point remote at phone camera and press buttons - you should see a light flashing in the camera view.
  6. Power Cycle: Unplug TV from power for 2 minutes, then reconnect and test remote.
  7. Factory Reset: As last resort, perform factory reset on TV (note: this will erase all settings).
Warning: Avoid using damaged batteries as they may leak and cause permanent remote damage. Use only recommended battery types.
