Network Installation Guide
Tools Needed:
- Network cable tester
- Ethernet cables (Cat5e/6/6a)
- Screwdrivers set
- Network configuration software
- Wi-Fi analyzer app
Step-by-Step Network Setup
- Network Planning: Assess your network requirements and plan the optimal layout for routers, switches, and access points.
- Hardware Installation: Mount network equipment in well-ventilated areas with proper power supply and cable management.
- Cable Connections: Connect Ethernet cables from modem to router, router to switches, and switches to end devices.
- Power Up Sequence: Turn on modem first, wait for stabilization, then router, followed by switches and other devices.
- Network Configuration: Access router admin panel via web browser to configure SSID, security settings, and IP ranges.
- Wireless Setup: Configure Wi-Fi settings including channel selection, bandwidth, and security protocols (WPA2/WPA3).
- Network Testing: Test connectivity, speed, and coverage throughout the installation area.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No internet connection | Modem issues, incorrect settings, service outage | Restart modem and router, check ISP status, verify settings |
| Slow Wi-Fi speeds | Interference, distance, too many connected devices | Change Wi-Fi channel, reposition router, limit connected devices |
| Intermittent connection | Signal interference, outdated firmware, hardware issues | Update firmware, check for interference sources, test with wired connection |
| Can't connect to network | Incorrect password, MAC filtering, IP conflict | Verify password, check MAC filter settings, restart devices |
| Limited coverage area | Physical obstructions, wrong antenna position, low power | Reposition router, check antenna orientation, consider range extenders |
| Device recognition issues | DHCP problems, IP conflicts, network congestion | Restart DHCP service, assign static IPs, reduce network load |
Common Error Codes
- ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT: Network timeout - Check router connectivity and restart devices
- DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET: DNS issues - Restart router or change DNS servers
- WIFI_CONNECTION_FAILED: Connection failure - Verify password and router settings
- IP_CONFLICT: IP address conflict - Restart router or assign static IPs
- PORT_FORWARDING_ERROR: Configuration issue - Check port forwarding settings
- FIRMWARE_UPDATE_FAILED: Update problem - Manual firmware installation required
